BIOGRAPHY

Roland Varriale is a Senior Cybersecurity Researcher at Argonne National Laboratory in the United States, specializing in the security of electric vehicle supply equipment and EV charging infrastructure. His work examines how smart charging stations with wireless connectivity and network access can be secured against unauthorized compromise.

Roland has collaborated with public utilities, owner-operators, and equipment manufacturers to identify vulnerabilities and establish best practices, and currently leads a Department of Energy effort to develop a cybersecurity standard for EV chargers.
